Introducing Our New Blog

We are excited to be launching something big and exciting with you all today. If you’re reading this, you can probably guess what it is.

This has been a project on our ‘one day that would be so great to implement’ list for quite some time, and we are happy to announce that the day has finally come where that dream has become reality.

And to be launching it on such a special day makes for double the celebration.

Today marks the first day of John Howard Society Week 2020!

From February 9 to 15, we join John Howard Societies across the country in celebrating JHS and the incredible work being carried out that strives to create safe, healthy, and inclusive communities for everyone in Canada. And with 60+ affiliates working at the national, provincial and regional level to achieve that goal – that’s a whole lot to be proud of.

Throughout the week, we will be kicking off our new blog by sharing featured posts each day that shed light on our organization, the work that we do (and the people that are doing that work), the people that we serve, and the societal challenges that we are determined to work through as we assist vulnerable community members to achieve greater independence.

After JHS Week, you can expect to find a new blog post waiting for you to read once each month, the topics of which will be diverse – from posts that share the voices, lived experience, and perspectives of our service users, to posts that make clear our stance on social and criminal justice issues, this blog will truly be a one stop shop for perspectives and inspiration on social and criminal justice here in the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley.

We are excited to share upcoming content with you, starting tomorrow!

Until tomorrow,

Your friends at the JHS
