About the Addictions Counsellor Program

The Addictions Counsellor Kamloops program supports women as they transition from institutions to the community. Through referrals from Kamloops Parole, the counsellor works to support the individual needs of each participant and assists them to navigate potential barriers they may encounter during their reintegration.

Participants are supported through:

  • The development of person-centered case plans
  • Individual and group counselling opportunities
  • Educational activities
  • Prevention strategies
  • Workshops

In partnership with the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC), the Addictions Counsellor program helps individuals build positive community connections and feel safe and included in their chosen community.

The program contributes to community safety and the success of program participants, as they continue to learn, grow, and develop on their own terms, toward their own goals.
