Real Estate Development Projects
Connective is advancing real estate development projects that create practical, community-driven solutions.

Connective is a nonprofit with decades of experience supporting communities across BC and the Yukon. Since 2000, we have developed, owned, and operated housing with a long-term, community-first approach.
Our work spans changing real estate cycles and government landscapes, grounded in a commitment to sustainability, resilience, and long-term impact.

Community-driven approach
We respond to evolving needs with flexible, community-driven solutions that strengthen our infrastructure and the communities we serve. We don’t build units or structures – we create homes. Working alongside dedicated partners, we maximize resources to expand capacity and create safe, healthy, and inclusive communities.

Addressing complex challenges
The challenges we face today — unaffordable housing, aging in place, lack of adaptable and accessible housing, social and health supports, justice, employment, and community wellbeing — are systemic and transcend geographic boundaries. We go where we’re needed most, supporting under-resourced communities and responding to partners and funders seeking our experience.

Strategic growth
Our growth has been intentional and guided by a strategic planning process shaped by leadership, service users, staff, Indigenous perspectives, and our Board. We have grown through a focus on innovation, strong partnerships, and strategic investments that strengthen and expand our impact.
Since completing our first affordable housing complex in the early 2000s, we have led five additional developments and made several acquisitions. Information about our projects currently under development will be shared at the appropriate time.

Rental Protection Fund
Connective is a proud partner of the BC Rental Protection Fund – a $500-million fund that enables non-profit organizations to buy older rental buildings to protect the affordability of existing rental units.
Through this partnership, Connective has achieved:
- 13 buildings acquired across BC
- 443 affordable housing units now in operation
- Rapid acquisitions completed within months
- Protecting residents from renovictions
- Ensuring long-term rental stability
Real Estate Team
Connective’s Real Estate Development team includes long-term Connective leaders with backgrounds in real estate, executive leadership, capital projects, insurance management, property and strata management, and Indigenous housing
Our team is made up of dedicated professionals who are passionate about creating sustainable solutions to address homelessness, housing insecurity, affordability, and other critical issues facing vulnerable populations.
Infrastructure Team
Connective leads proactive tenant engagement, preventative maintenance, repairs, and capital projects through our dedicated Infrastructure Team.
We have a proven track record of responding quickly to operate at-risk rental buildings, while safeguarding our and our partners’ assets, maximizing the lifespan of our buildings, and operating as efficiently as economically practical.
