About Rosstown Housing

Rosstown Housing provides safe, secure housing and wraparound supports to individuals who have been found Not Criminally Responsible due to Mental Disorder (NCRMD) and are on a conditional discharge or visit leave. The suite is located in Nanaimo and has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and is fully furnished.

 

The residence is tailored towards individuals who are almost ready to live on their own. Staff support them with developing daily living skills, establishing goals, and work to successfully transition residents into fully independent and long-term market housing. Rent is $500/month, and includes telephone, internet, computer access and television services.

 

Residents at Rosstown are connected to supports and services related to their individual needs and goals. This may include:
• Comprehensive case management services
• Ongoing outreach services
• Access to other Connective programs and services
• Recreational activities
• Paid work experience opportunities
• Connections to health care services in the community

 

Rosstown Housing is a Forensic Housing and Outreach Program that is delivered in Partnership with the Forensic Psychiatric Services Commission.

Admission Criteria

Individuals who have been found Not Criminally Responsible due to Mental Disorder (NCRMD) and are on a conditional discharge or visit leave may apply to live at Rosstown.

 

Residents are:
• Committed to abstinence and working on treatment goals
• Motivated to participate in programming
• Willing to abide by conditions and house rules
