About the Northern BC Therapeutic Community
The Northern BC Therapeutic Community (NBCTC) offers an ideal setting away from the stressors of the world for 30 residents to build community while focusing on recovery from substance use challenges. At this 150+ acre property, 30km south-west of Prince George, residents will receive safe, secure housing and 24/7 person-centered wraparound services that are tailored to their self-identified needs and goals. Connective staff will provide meal programs, life and employment skills training, and health and wellness support.
In this safe and secure environment, participants will have the opportunity to reconnect with nature and engage in agricultural activities – caring for animals, harvesting, beekeeping, and more – while reclaiming and rebuilding their physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. Using community itself as the primary vehicle for change, residents are encouraged to share experiences, grow within a supportive setting, and develop the tools they need to sustain long-term recovery.
There are no fees for service. Stays at the program will range from six to twelve months and be broken into three distinct phases – orientation, transformation, and reunification. Aftercare services are also provided by a transition counselor and are available up to a year after completing the program.
