Our Work
The Connective approach is person-centered, holistic, and strengths based. Over the years, our expertise has developed to reflect the unique assets and needs of the people and communities we serve.
Our services include reintegration support, housing and homelessness prevention, employment, outreach, Community Living and other community-based services that create safe, healthy, and inclusive communities.
In our continuum of support, people can find what they need to move forward and navigate challenging social systems. In us, people find an advocate willing to work tirelessly to help them overcome barriers and achieve their goals.

Our approach to service delivery is guided by the following core principles:
Person-Centered
In person-centered care, the focus is on the person and what they can do – not on their condition, disability, or on the challenging circumstances they may find themselves in at a given point in time. With a person-centered approach, support is tailored to each person’s unique needs and circumstances and focuses on helping them achieve their goals.
Housing First
Housing first principles recognize that stable, appropriate housing is a critical step in avoiding crisis, and a crucial springboard for accessing additional supports, overcoming barriers, and pursuing personal independence. Applying these principles means supporting people to secure immediate and low-barrier access to housing and providing the community-based supports necessary to maintain it long-term.
Harm Reduction
Harm reduction is an evidence-based approach that provides people who use substances a choice of how they will minimize harms through non-judgmental and non-coercive strategies and tools. It acknowledges that individuals coping with problematic substance use may not be able to remain abstinent from their substance of choice, and seeks to reduce the health and social harms associated with that substance use as much as possible.
Culturally Appropriate Services
Recognizing the role culture plays in healing, growth, and resilience for our Indigenous residents and service users, we work to integrate the wisdom and expertise of Elders, Indigenous Leadership, Knowledge Keepers, and Indigenous-led community groups in all that we do. In the Yukon, we are honoured to partner with the Council of Yukon First Nations (CYFN) on to support our service users in a way that is locally, contextually, and culturally relevant.
