Our Strategic Framework
2024 through 2027
We have a robust strategic planning process to ensure that we continue to meet the evolving needs of the individuals and communities we work with. This process ensures that our teams remain focused and moving towards safe, healthy, inclusive communities for all.
Our strategic priorities fall under three pillars: serve, engage, and sustain. Our goal is serve more people facing systemic barriers, while sustaining our growth and development.
Growth and Expansion
Over the past few years, Connective’s reach has more than doubled across all of our key metrics. The issues we face today—housing, justice, employment, and community wellbeing—are systemic and transcend geographic boundaries. Connective is proud to go where we’re needed and bring our experience to under-resourced communities. Being responsive to communities and funders who ask for our support is—and always will be—a core part of who we are.
Our growth has been intentional and guided by a strategic planning process, led by our leadership team and shaped by input from service users, staff, Indigenous perspectives, and our Board. Key strategies driving our growth have included program expansion and innovation, strategic partnerships, property acquisition and redevelopment, as well as brand licensing and mergers.
Our ambitious Strategic Framework will guide us as we continue to lead in innovative, person-centered service delivery. In our last fiscal year, we:
- Protected over 400 units of affordable housing through the Rental Protection Fund
- Assumed operation of eight new programs across Northern BC, Vancouver, and Vancouver Island
- Published our third annual Leadership Gathering Report, following the 2025 multi-sectoral event
- Formalized a partnership with the Aboriginal Housing Management Association
We also opened new clinical care programs alongside additional supportive and transitional housing programs across our regions.
“I believe Connective does a great job in networking with government and other justice partners…Connective isn’t content to stay in one lane (and that is to their credit) and is driven to respond to diverse sets of needs. “
