About SHARP

The Supervised Housing and Reintegration Program (SHARP) provides safe, secure housing and wraparound supports to individuals on conditional release from federal, and territorial institutions. The program is co-located on the grounds of the Whitehorse Correctional Centre in a separate and independent part of the building and has capacity for 20 residents.

SHARP provides 24/7 staffing to ensure that individuals receive the support they need to succeed while reintegrating into the community. The program, the first of its kind in Canada, supports residents as they work to achieve greater independence through programming, advocacy, and providing information on community resources.

By bridging the gap between the institution and the community, SHARP contributes to community safety and enables residents as they make efforts to affect positive changes in their lives.
