The apartment-style building in Kamloops contains a mixture of single and double units, comprising 33 total beds, including 7 beds designated for Indigenous program participants.
Staff at Georgian Court provide support services based on residents’ personal goals, and residents can access a variety of health and life skills enhancement programs that foster self-reliance and independence. Supports available include:
Residents are also connected to culturally appropriate, trauma-informed supports related to every aspect of their reintegration efforts such as:
- Addictions
- Mental Health
- Employment
- Education goals
- IMPS
Staff also provide support and information on obtaining housing, personal identification, medical coverage, banking services, and recreational opportunities. With support and advocacy, residents can navigate potential obstacles to reintegration, and build positive community connections.
Georgian Court Kamloops operates under contract with the Correctional Service of Canada. All residents are subject to both general and specific conditions of release.
By bridging the gap between the institution and the community, Georgian Court Kamloops contributes to community safety and enables residents as they make efforts to affect positive changes in their lives.
